It was humbling to see these animals up close and feel their raw power in the air. But the "king of the jungle" is more vulnerable than they appear, with populations dropping 75% in the last fifty years. Every living thing plays a vital role in the world's ecosystems, but iconic species like the lion help bring attention to conservation by capturing imaginations with their charisma and beauty.
